Planet Wild and Ecosia joined forces with the Magnolios Foundation to help protect the cloud forest. They provided us with financial support to expand the area under conservation and to recruit and train staff to help us fulfil our mission.
The documentary produced in collaboration with Planet Wild, dis now available; in it, we showcase the work we carry out at the Los Magnolios Nature Reserve in partnership with Salvamontes Colombia.

The Magnolios REDD+ Project, registered under the Verra (VCS) international standard, protects native forests in the Andean region of Antioquia, home to unique and endangered species such as Magnolia guatapensis and Magnolia yarumalensis, as well as iconic wildlife such as the jaguar and the puma. Its aim is **to prevent deforestation, conserve biodiversity and support local communities** through conservation, restoration and environmental education activities.
By purchasing carbon credits from this project, you not only offset your carbon footprint, but also contribute directly to the protection of Andean forests, the preservation of threatened species and the promotion of sustainable development in the region.

The nature reserve attracts visitors from the local area, tourists and scientists, who come to explore the area’s biodiversity. In addition, conservation projects are carried out to protect species such as the magnolia, and activities such as birdwatching and canyoning are on offer.
